Genealogy Research

I help clients clarify the details of their family stories by providing genealogical research based on documents and facts.  I identify genealogical goals by drawing out what is of most interest, and I work with clients to define specific questions that can be pursued. All of my research reports meet industry-approved genealogical proof standards.

Each completed research project will consist of:

  • A printed booklet that includes a research report with complete citations

  • Printed pedigree chart of  researched ancestors

  • Copies of all images and documents found in the research report

  • An invitation to download digitized images of your documents

  • Recommendations for further research

  • A GEDCOM file to upload to your genealogy software or online service (if requested)

Common Genealogy Questions

  • I know nothing about my family and need to start from scratch

  • I would like to know when my family arrived in America, with information about their life in their homeland

  • I have done my own research, but have hit a brick wall that I cannot get past

  • I want to apply for membership to a lineage society but do not know where to start

  • I know where my grandparents were born and lived, but where are they buried?

  • My family immigrated to the United States, and I have little information about my ancestors from our home country.

Recommendations

I recommend that each client takes a minimum of one DNA test. This test plays a significant role in breaking down brick walls that are often caused by record loss.  This is a recommendation and not a requirement. If you wish to test, research will not begin until the DNA results have been received.

Testimonial

"Elizabeth was instrumental in solving a century old question about several of our ancestors from the late 1700s and early 1800s. Her skill in knowing what databases, difficult to find county, church and tax records was the key to resolving our elusive issues and connections."
